A Capuchin centre in Dublin has revealed that the number of free meals given to people in need has more than doubled over the last decade.
The Capuchin Day Centre in Dublin is gearing up to handing out thousands of Christmas hampers to as many families.
According to a spokesperson for the centre, the situation is ‘appalling’ and ‘desperate’ for tens of thousands of people.
Meanwhile, it is unclear how or if the Government will do anything to alleviate the homelessness situation during Christmas or beyond.
