Take extra care at the wheel if you’re out and about tonight, as high winds are battering the country at the moment.
The west and northwest coast are bearing the brunt of the wind onslaught, with gusts of up to 100km/h lashing the shores this evening. An accumulation of surface water may lead to spot flooding, while debris on the roads will pose an added risk for drivers.
The outlook is for a wet and blustery week, while temperatures will remain at a rather mild 14-15C, quite unusual for this time of year, though Thursday and Friday will likely be 2-3 degrees colder.
The weekend is expected to be mild again, but rather wet.
