More grim details are emerging today about the tragic events that took place in a quiet Co. Cavan community two days ago.
It has been reported that the father of the family, Alan Hawe, used a hatchet and a knife to murder his three sons, Liam (13), Niall (11) and Ryan (6).
Gardai have also confirmed that Mr. Hawe did not appear to suffer from any mental health issues, nor was the family in any financial distress.
A note was reportedly found yesterday, which according to Gardai may shed some insight into the motives for the killings.
