Charlie Bird shared heart-breaking news from home as he continues to battle motor neurone disease, but admitted he was honoured to help raise money for the hospice, reports The Mirror.
The legendary broadcaster has been talking about his health through his social media channels since being diagnosed with MND, keeping fans updated with the good news and the bad.
In his latest update, the retired RTÉ journalist revealed that his illness left him crying his eyes out, reports The Mirror.
However, he added that he was delighted to have the opportunity to help launch the Bewley Hospice Coffee Morning ahead of the actual coffee morning next month.
He wrote: “I am crying my eyes out this evening because of the way my illness is going. But I am so honoured that I have been invited to help launch the Bewley’s Hospice coffee morning tomorrow. None of us knows when we might need the hospice. Please support the coffee morning on September 21,” reports The Mirror.
