Cringeworthy propaganda on RTE’s Fair City backfires as it is dismissed as patronising

After a ham-fisted attempt at propaganda from RTE’s Fair City in a cringe worthy storyline about “far-right” posters warning against the dangers of open borders and mass migration, criticism from the public has been relentless and scathing.

The villain of the plot is a man called Fergal who thinks migration should be controlled, blasphemes the establishment dogma about global warming and suggests that the move to a cashless society is a ploy of the elite to exert more control over people.

Independent Senator Rónán Mullen posted on social media regarding the episode “A particularly unsubtle attempt by RTÉ to ‘educate’ the people they believe cannot be reached by argument. How they do patronize the great unwashed”.

The obviously ill conceived attempt to discredit opinions which enjoy growing popularity amongst the Irish people coincidentally comes as the government is facing increasing push back on its various agendas. Resistance to speech controls, mass migration, gender ideology and extreme measures such as culling hundreds of thousands of cows in the name of reducing carbon continues to go from strength to strength.

However, Fair City, a show synonymous with mockery has caused the exact opposite of their intentions as interest in these opinions and viewpoints has only expanded after the cringe worthy episode’s airing.
