Chief medical officer Dr Tony Holohan says the use of face masks by the general public is being considered

The Chief Medical officer Dr Tony Holohan has not ruled out the possibility of the general public wearing face masks during the Covid-19 outbreak.

Speaking at the National Public Health Emergency Team briefing, Dr Holohan said the use of face masks are being considered.

It is understood the proposal is being considered after the Scottish government advised the public that they should use masks whilst in public places such as shops.
