Chindo Emeaugbor jailed for ferocious stanley blade attack on teen in Cork last November

The Cork Circuit Criminal Court heard evidence of a stabbing attack on a Mallow teen last November that was so vicious the Stanley blade used in the assault actually broke during the attack.

According to EchoLive, Chindo Emeaugbor (19) pleaded guilty to assault causing harm to the 17-year-old victim at Applegreen, Spa Square, Mallow on November 3, 2019 Echo Live reported.

Detective Garda Aidan Long described how the brutal attack left the unnamed boy with a laceration from just below his left ear down to his chin which saw the blade used the attack break before Emeaugbor paused to adjust the remained of the blade to continue stabbing and slashing his victim.

Emeaugbor launched the unhinged attack on the teen over a debt of 300 euro which the boy had said he would pay him on behalf of another youth after he refused to give him his mobile phone.

The 19-year-old Emeaugbor already has nine previous convictions and fled to the UK after the assault before being returned home in January follow his apprehension in Britain.

Emeaugbor who has convictions for drug possession and public order offences showed no remorse for the attack and became so aggressive during his interview with Gardai he had to be placed in a holding cell.

EchoLive reports that Judge Sean O Donnabhain said it was “a very nasty assault” but sentenced the African to just two and a half years in jail backdated to January and with the last six months suspended.
