Chinese Police bust fake Lego company called Lepin in $30 million sting

Lego, the most loved toy that there is, has become quite expensive over the past number of years so a Chinese company took matters into their own hands making identical Lego sets called Lepin.

However, the Chinese Police and Government have shut the business down, at least temporarily.

Chinese authorities raided Lepin’s factory located in Shenzhen, China after discovering it was allegedly manufacturing fake Lego products. The raid found $30 million worth of counterfeit Lego with some 630,000 sets discovered.

The sets were copied from Lego blueprints and were fully compatible with its Danish counterpart.

An investigation is underway but already Chinese workers are mooted to have started a new company.
