Christmas ham sold at Lidl gets urgently recalled over cooking instruction confusion

Lidl customers are being warned of a recall of popular Christmas ham products in stores across Ireland.

Smoked and unsmoked ham fillets will be cooked for Christmas dinner in many homes across the country next week, but some of those sold at Lidl come with packs of incorrect cooking instructions.

The ham fillets were made by Callan Bacon Ltd. Supplied to Lidl but now the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has issued a recall notice for the products.

A statement read: “Callan Bacon Ltd. is recalling Smoked 100% Irish Ham Fillet and Unsmoked 100% Irish Ham Fillet with specific barcodes due to incorrect boiling instructions detailed on the label. The implicated ham fillets were sold in Lidl stores,” reports The Mirror.

Customers are urged to take note of the correct notices urgently. Information about this recall will be posted in all affected Lidl branches.
