Claire Byrne segment says anyone who doesn’t believe State media narrative on Covid may need an intervention and pulled out of their conspiracy rabbit holes

In what can only be described as truly farcical, a segment on Monday night’s Claire Byrne Live would leave you in tears laughing if it actually didn’t happen, but it did!

The host interviewed a person described as a so-called conspiracy theorist because the don’t believe that covid is as bad as State media is making it out to be.

What followed next was almost like something out of a Callan’s Kicks sketch.

A woman, who was afraid to show her identity, said that she fell out with a friend because they believed that covid wasn’t nearly as bad as it’s being made out to be and that the person was living life as normal.

Two doctors were then interviewed about such people. One of the doctor’s advice was to sit down with your friend if they start to believe these ideas and have a talk to them about it, presumably trying to convey RTE’s propaganda about the pandemic.

Another sterling piece of advice was that if your friend ignores you and continues down these “rabbit holes” that they might need an “intervention” from family and friends, presumably to get them back on the RTE propaganda bandwagon.

The patronising “advice” was utterly startling, so much so that you’d have to ask yourself whether any the woman whose identity was blanked out wasn’t just someone that found in the RTE canteen earlier that day.

It also smells of fear from RTE that there’s a far higher number of people in society who don’t believe that covid is nearly as bad as State media want you to believe.
