Former Housing Minister Eoghan Murphy has announced his resignation as TD to focus on ‘international development.’
Mr. Murphy, whose performance as Minister for Housing ranked pretty abysmally (homelessness rose by 25% throughout his first 13 months at the job, and he was subsequently the target of a motion of no confidence, which he just about survived) has said that his resignation is a ‘personal decision.’
According to him, he’ll now dedicate his time to ‘pursue a career in the area of international co-operation, human rights and democracy.’
