Clamping of frontline medical staff in Dublin City will start again at end of August as Council lifts ban




If you’re a frontline medical worker your local boozer may still be closed but Dublin City Council will not ease your pain by sparring you the financial blow of being clamped as a hiatus on the punishing of medical staff parking in restricted spaces, in place since March, will be ended come September 1st.

Dublin City Council chief executive Owen Keegan has said that the clamping of vehicles belonging to hospital staff working in Dublin city will resume at the end of August the Irish Times reported.

The halting of clamping of vehicles displaying a valid ID card or a note on hospital or GP practice was put in place by DCC in March which was in line with the government’s instructions to local authorities to aid frontline medical staff in the battle against Covid-19.

As some lockdown measures are eased so to will this measure now be discontinued as hospitals and GPs are no longer in danger of being overrun with sick patients.
