Commuter chaos around the capital looks certain, after the General Secretary of the National Bus and Rail Union (NBRU), Dermot O’Leary, said that a strike at Dublin Bus is ‘inevitable.’
According to Mr. O’Leary, Dublin Bus has remained silent after workers rejected a Labour Court recommendation of a pay rise amounting to 8.75% over three years.
Staff are looking for an 18.3% increase, in line with their Luas colleagues.
Shunning responsibilities, the Minister for Transport, Shane Ross, has said it would not be “helpful” if he intervened in the dispute.
The row continues.
