The HSE has warned that as many of 180 cases of the Delta (Indian) variant have now been detected in Ireland.
This particular strain has long been signaled as a ‘concern’ for the Irish health system.
The Delta variant has now become prevalent in the UK, where cases are rising ‘exponentially’ in a quickly escalating situation.
