Concerns are growing that other students or indeed staff at a north Dublin secondary school may have contracted the coronavirus from the male student who is the first confirmed patient to have COVID-19 in the Republic of Ireland.

In major news on Sunday evening, HSE announced that one secondary school in north Dublin was to close on a precautionary basis after the male with coronavirus in Ireland came in contact with the school, and its student and staff population.

The secondary school is now closed for 14 days with all students and all staff to be put into an isolation period for at least 14 days.

The HSE say that they’re directing all concerned as to how they need to act for the next 14 days.

It’s understood that all students’ parents are to be notified daily by text with updates.
