Connolly: A small group of people who are loud and vocal are using the tricolour and they don’t represent the people of Ireland

Speaking at last night’s Presidential debate, Catherine Connolly claims that a there’s a small group of people who are loud and vocal and are using the tricolour to voice their outrage.

She said that the language of division and saying that country is full is abhorrent.

Connolly says that a vacuum has arisen and allowed certain voices to be raised very loudly.

“Are they right?”, she said – “Absolutely not”, she answered.

“We need a discourse of what’s happening in terms of the flag, we need leadership in this country, whether it’s from the President or the government.”
