Cork youth dies in chip pan fire

Young footballer, Evan Kidney, has died following a chip pan that caught fire in his home on Sunday.

The 17-year-old from Cork,was found unconscious on his kitchen floor by his family after they returned home after 3pm.

Evan played for Greenwood FC and was also a amazing boxer.

 

CPR was carried out by members of his family before emergency services arrived to help Evan. But unfortunately the CPR failed and Evan died at the scene.

It is believe that the fire was not suspicious. Gardai and fire services are investigating the cause of the fire.

Evans body was moved from the home last night and a post-mortem is taking place at Cork University Hospital this morning.
