British Airways has canceled all flights to and from Italy in response to the deepening health crisis in the country.
Italy is now effectively in lockdown after more than 9,000 people became infected with coronavirus. All public gatherings are now banned, and people have been told to stay at home unless travel is absolutely necessary.
Medical authorities in Italy have said that the health system is ‘overwhelmed’ with the ‘tsunami’ of COVID-19-infected patients.
