British army units have been deployed to enforce lockdown measures across the UK, following the Prime Minister’s orders that all non-essential shops and stores must close.
Those found flouting the new rules face fines of between £30 and £1,000.
The entire UK is now under effective lockdown, and will remain so for at least three weeks.
