A British health association is tonight warning of an emerging inflammatory syndrome in children, some of whom previously tested positive for Covid-19.
It is understood that doctors across London have seen a rising number of minors presenting with a ‘multisystem inflammatory syndrome’. Some of the patients required intensive care.
Several children had previously tested for Covid-19, but some had not, leading doctors to think that the new disease might be related to Covid-19, or that a new pathogen is emerging.
Children are the one sector of society left relatively unscathed by Covid-19. While children can be infected, they usually only develop mild symptoms, even if they suffer comorbidities.
