Covid-19 has now taken hold in Brazil, but the country’s president appears to remain in denial about the impending disaster.
Brazil’s leader, Jair Bolsonaro’s, has repeatedly referred to Covid-19 as a ‘little flu.’ Meanwhile, official figures say that there are now over 67,000 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Brazil, but doctors believe that the true figure is likely to be close to 1m.
Brazil is currently heading into winter, which will likely exacerbate already dire conditions in the country’s hospitals.
