The death toll resulting from coronavirus-related causes has risen to 560, with total infections inching close to 30,000.
The coronavirus has now been detected in 24 countries, prompting the closure of borders across many territories, and the cancellation of flight services.
Still, experts have said that the current viral strain has a mortality rate of just about 2%, far below the 10% attributed to the pathogen responsible for the SARS epidemic back in 2003.
