Wuhan, the Chinese city where the killer virus was first detected, has celebrated the end of its 11-week long lockdown with a massive party.
The city, home to around 11m people, had been largely isolated since the start of the crisis in January 2020.
Chinese authorities have now started to allow people to move around and travel, on the condition that a Government-sponsored, controlled, and tracked smartphone app proves that they are healthy and that they have not been around anyone infected.
People then celebrated their perceived new freedom all over the city.
