Couple who rescued dog from top of mountain have been reported for 5km lockdown breach

Remember that heart warming story last week where a couple came across a freezing dog in the Wicklow mountains and wrapped the dog in their own clothes and carried it to safety on their backs as the dog was unable to walk.

According to DublinLive, the couple have been reported to Gardai by a member of the public for breaching the 5km lockdown rules.

Both dog rescuers are doctors who allegedly stayed in the Elbowroom Escape Lodge in Donard, Co Wicklow at the time the rescue took place.

According to DublinLive, a Garda spokesman said: “Gardai in Wicklow are carrying out enquiries in relation to premises in the Donard area of Wicklow.”
“The premises in question remain closed pending the outcome of the Garda inquiry.”
