Court hears Limerick hurler punched man continuously in the head in nightclub row




A 24-yr-old man told Limerick Crown Court that he was punched in the head by Limerick All-Ireland hurling competition winner Kyle Hayes in a nightclub over the October bank holiday weekend in 2019, reports RTE.

Cillian McCarthy, of Ballysimon, Limerick, gave evidence on the fourth day of the trial in which Kyle Hayes is charged with assaulting Mr McCarthy and two counts of violent disorder on October 28, 2019.

Hayes denies the allegations, reports RTE.

Joy Chowdhury, of Kilmore, is also charged with assault and violent disorder, while Craig Cosgrave, of Grange Sea, Limerick, is charged with violent disorder on the same night.

Both denied the allegations, reports RTE.
