Coveney: Santa Claus doesn’t have to quarantine for 14 days but children must keep social distance from him

The Minister for Foreign Affairs Simon Coveney has declared that Santa Claus has been given special clearance to enter Irish airspace and indeed Irish homes.

Coveney said that Santa will not have to self-quarantine for 14 days and that he is fully exempt from all restrictions other than staying 2 metres away from children.

Father Christmas has been busy working with his elves to build all the toys for all the boys and girls around the world and he will be still be able to deliver the gifts but for this year only, children will have to wave at the big man rather than sit on his lap and tell them what they want for Christmas.

It’s understood that the North Pole has received all the letters though and they say that they’ll be fully ready to go with Rudolph and the gang with a fully loaded sleigh on Christmas Eve.

Mammies and daddies can read the good news to the kids!
