British health authorities have declared a ‘major incident’ in Essex following a dramatic increase in coronavirus cases.
The surge in cases is reportedly threatening to ‘overwhelm’ the hospital system there, prompting authorities to seek urgent help from the Government.
The entirety of Essex is currently in Tier 4 lockdown.
