Covid-19: British hospital shuts its A&E department and temporarily halts new admissions due to a sudden influx of Covid-19 patients

A British hospital has shut its A&E department and temporarily halted new admissions due to a sudden influx of Covid-19 patients.

Weston General Hospital, in Weston-super-Mare, stopped taking in patients early this morning as a precaution.

Hospital bosses say that there’s currently a ‘high number’ of Covid-19 patients at the facility.

Official records show that 36,793 people have so far died from Covid-19 across the UK, but health authorities believe that figure is much higher.
