Italian authorities have said that cases of a rare inflammatory disease linked with Covid-19 have increased by as much as 30 times in Bergamo, one of the worst-hit cities in the country.
The new illness displays symptoms similar to Kawasaki disease, which normally affects young children in Asian countries only.
The disease has now been detected in New York and London as well, where a 14-year-old tragically passed away from it in recent days.
