Hong Kong has banned flights from eight nations in an effort to curtail the spread of the Omicron variant.

From January 8, passengers from the UK, the United States, Canada, Australia, Pakistan, Philippines, France, and India will not be allowed into the country.

Hong Kong has so far reported 114 cases of the Omicron coronavirus variant.
