President Joe Biden had a bad taste of winter weather onboard Air Force One this week when he was snowed in due to heavy snowfalls.
According to the Metro, Biden was forced to stay on Air Force One for half an hour while he waited for the door of the plan to be opened by airport personnel. The stairs that is normally easily driven to the plane could only be very slowed hauled through the deep snow and airport workers had to help by pushing it along.
The snow was so heavy that Washington’s Mayor declared a snow emergency. Covid testing and vaccination sites had to close while the airport was severely restricted, meaning that hundreds of flights were cancelled.
When the plane could finally be reached, 79-year-old Biden walked down the stairs very slowly and carefully to make sure he did not fall and sustain a serious injury.
Other parts of the US have also experienced heavy snowfalls that have interrupted daily life.
