Ireland is in a ‘precarious’ coronavirus situation, according to a top doctor.
According to Professor Philip Nolan, the virus’ R number has reached 1.4 at least, but could be as high as 1.8. If this is confirmed, the country would be looking at 150-160 new cases per day in three weeks’ time.
One more person died from Covid-19-related causes today, bringing the total death toll to 1,749 so far.
