Covid-19: Leading doctor says that coronavirus cases could ‘spike dramatically’ if pubs and clubs reopen too soon

A leading doctor has said that coronavirus cases could ‘spike dramatically‘ across Ireland if pubs and clubs reopen too soon.

The latest warning comes from Dr. Kim Roberts, the Assistant Professor of Virology at Trinity College. Dr. Roberts added that opening pubs is ‘risky.’

Pubs that do not serve meals are scheduled to reopen on August 10.

A total of 1,763 have died from Covid-19-related causes in Ireland so far.
