Minister for Health Simon Harris has confirmed that there’ll be no change to the 2m social distancing rule in the near future.
The minister’s position on social distancing echoes that of the Taoiseach and the Chief Medical Officer.
There have been calls from some sectors to reduce the distance to 1m, as recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO), but the 2m metre rule stands in Ireland as of today.
