New entrants for the Pandemic Unemployment Payment (PUP) scheme no longer be allowed from July 1, the Government has confirmed.
Gardai recently deployed a special operations team to check the forms and ensure people are closing their claims on time.
People who lose their job from July 1 onwards will be directed to claim the usual jobseeker’s payment or whatever other welfare payment they might be entitled to.
