The National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) is reportedly holding regular meetings throughout the weekend to discuss the evolving situation with the new coronavirus variant.
The Omicron strain has now been detected in the UK, Italy, Germany, and Belgium.
This new variant has been confirmed to have a number of mutations and has been deemed the ‘worst ever’ strain.
