Scientists and health authorities have warned that the coronavirus is inching closer to reaching a ‘tipping point’ worldwide.
The ‘tipping point’ refers to the point in time when a global pandemic can no longer be averted.
The disease has now popped up in a number of countries across several continents. A cluster of infections in Italy over the weekend has become a particular point of concern, as the virus is now likely to spread quickly across the country and elsewhere in the European continent.
Coronavirus-related deaths have surpassed 2,500, with almost 80,000 infections worldwide.
