Covid-19: People in their 40s here in Ireland will be given the choice of AstraZeneca or Johnson & Johnson vaccines, both of which are banned in some European countries due to their potentially deadly side effects

People in their 40s here in Ireland will be given the choice of AstraZeneca or Johnson & Johnson vaccines when they attend their vaccination appointment, it has emerged today.

Remarkably, both vaccines are either banned or pending decisions to do so in some European countries due to their potentially deadly side effects.

If people choose to not have either vaccine, they can wait for an mRNA-type vaccine (Pfizer, for instance.)
