Pfizer has claimed that its vaccine is effective against the South African coronavirus variant.
According to the company, the vaccine shows a 91% effectiveness in preventing illness for other variants, and 100% effective against the South African strain, though the number of participants in a specific trial for this strain was relatively small at just 800.
The company has also highlighted that there are serious safety concerns about their vaccine.
