A case of the new mutant coronavirus strain has been detected in Belgium.
The new variant, codenamed B.1.1.529 ‘Nu’ was first detected in Botswana.
Nu has been deemed ‘the worst ever’ strain of coronavirus as it’s thought to evade current antibodies, which would render any vaccine even more ineffective.
