Covid-19: Taoiseach cannot rule that pubs might remain closed for the remainder of the year

Newly appointed Taoiseach Micheal Martin cannot rule out that pubs might remain closed for the remainder of the year.

In a further blow to the hospitality industry, pubs that serve food and restaurants will need to close by 11pm, following a meeting of Cabinet ministers today. During the meeting, it was decided that Ireland would not move to Phase 4 of lockdown easing just yet.

Covid-19 has killed 1,763 people in Ireland so far.
