Covid-19: Taoiseach refers to the rise in coronavirus cases as ‘concerning,’ adds that there is no guarantees that further restrictions will not be introduced

Taoiseach appointee Micheal Martin has referred to the rise in coronavirus cases as ‘concerning,’ adding that there are no guarantees that further restrictions will not be introduced.

This comes after a day when 2,855 new infections were reported.

The impact of the vaccines, if any, is again under scrutiny just days after Ireland’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. Tony Holohan was forced to admit that ‘vaccines are not performing as well as hoped’ in light of the continuous rise in infections.
