Big Pharma’s tills keep ringing merrily, as the UK has now agreed to buy 35m more doses of the Pfizer vaccine. At the current price of €19.50 a pop, Pfizer will take home almost €700m with this latest purchase order from the UK. Other countries might soon follow suit.
The new shipment is understood to be part of the rollout for the first booster shot in the schedule.
There is now an expectation that pharmaceutical companies will set an ongoing booster shot requirement to maintain the profitability of this lucrative business model.
