The coronavirus situation appears to be deteriorating quite rapidly in the UK, following reports of over 16,000 new infections over the past 24h.
Official figures say that there have been 16,135 new cases confirmed in that period of time. This is the highest daily figure since February 6th.
Health authorities have also announced 19 new Covid-19-related deaths.
