Dail to return today after summer recess was cut short




The Dail will return early today as Government Ministers and opposition TD’s have been called back from their summer holidays early due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

In a move following on GolfGate thr Taoiseach Micheal Martin is expected to field a number of questions as a number of opposition TD’s will look for answers on how the Government plans to deal with the pandemic going forward.

It is expected that the Government will discuss new measures in regards to Gardai being given greater powers to shut down pubs who are not complying with public health guidelines.

Meanwhile the Taoiseach is also expected to name a new Minister for Agriculture in the wake of Dara Calleary’s resignation following the events at the Oireachtas Golf Society event in Clifden.
