The Department of Health have confirmed that an expanded flu vaccination programme will be rolled out this autumn.
In an announcement the Department of Health said the programme is being expanded to in an effort to reduce the overall spread of the flu during the winter months and to cut the overall number of hospital admissions during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Department of Health say the vaccine will be made available free of charge to frontline medical professionals as well as the most vulnerable in Irish society.
They added that the vaccine will be made available free of charge via nasal drops for children between the ages of 2 and 12.
