
The death toll from the earthquake that struck Greece and Turkey on Friday has now surpassed 28, with no fewer than 800 others injured
The quake measured 7 in the Richter Scale, and was felt as far as Bulgaria. The epicentre was pinpointed to be in the Aegean Sea, about 11 miles (17 km) off the coast of Turkey’s Izmir province, at a depth of 10 miles (16km).
The seism has caused major damage in Turkey, and sparked a tsunami warning in Greece.
Rescue efforts are still ongoing, with some people being pulled from the rubble alive today.
