Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael have stated that their initial conversations were “positive and constructive” as they continue to have negotiations to form a government, reports RTE.
They added “both parties will continue to engage on issues over the coming days” in a joint statement.
The regional Independent group will also be in government with Fianna Fail and Fine Gael.
The govt will look similar but different to the outgoing government after the Green Party took an absolute trouncing in the general election.
Only party leader, Roderic O’Gorman will return to the Dail to represent the Green Party.
