According to reports this morning The Department of Finance has revealed they will conduct a review into the newly implemented help-to-buy scheme in order to eliminate any “potential abuses”.
The review of the scheme which was introduced during October’s Budget, comes after a number of warnings were issued by officials who believe that the scheme could be abused by EU nationals to buy properties outside Ireland.
Speaking yesterday a Department spokesperson said: “We committed to a review of the scheme during Finance Bill debates and that review will take place next year.”
