The Department of Health and the HSE have said that the phased reopening of schools can continue as planned.
In an announcement health officials said that schools can continue to reopen from March 15th.
It is understood that children from third to sixth class as well as students in fifth year will return next week.
The Department of Education say that health officials have reviewed the safety measures that have been put in place and they are happy that schools can reopen provided that guidelines are adhered to.
